COOWN Tokenomics

Status: DRAFT Migrated from: Notion (managed-trust.com workspace) Migration date: 2026-02-12 Review required: Yes

Purpose

This document describes the $COOWN token, its utility, staking mechanics, distribution plan, and ICO phases.

Note: The Initial Coin Offering (ICO) has been delayed. The current strategy is to build audience and community first, then prepare for the ICO with stronger fundamentals. The ICO should not be considered imminent or upcoming.

$COOWN Token

$COOWN is a cryptocurrency and asset-referenced token that can be traded with other currencies. The $COOWN tokens are launched on ICP using the ICRC-2 protocol. The token name is "$COOWN", and the symbol is "Ꮬ" (Unicode character 'CHEROKEE LETTER DLA', U+13DC). The $COOWN tokens are used for utility and governance.

Utility

  • Fundraising: The ICO of $COOWN is planned to collect the required funds to develop the COOWN platform.
  • Transaction Fees: A discount is offered to users who make their transactions with $COOWN.
  • Bonus: Users of the COOWN ecosystem are allocated airdrop bonuses to foster an engaging and incentivized community. New users can try the system without taking risks.
  • Rewards: $COOWN holders are rewarded for staking.

Staking & Voting

Once the Decentralized Autonomous Organisation (DAO) is fully established, $COOWN holders can participate in product governance by proposing and voting on desired features of the COOWN Wallet Community Edition.

Active community members are rewarded with interest rates for their staked tokens. The interest rate depends on the transaction fees collected from the Community Wallets during the last accounting period. Once approved as an SNS DAO, the DAO will be consulted regarding pricing and will need to find a balance between rewards and transaction commission.

During the ICO and while beta releases are being tested with early adopters receiving airdrop bonuses, the voting and staking features may not be accessible until a later release.

Token Allocation

The total maximum supply of $COOWN tokens is limited to 10 million Ꮬ. There is no inflation. There is no burning mechanism. Deflation is minimal and only occurs when a token owner loses access.

Allocation Maximum Supply %
Team (incl. Advisors, Ambassadors) 1,000,000 Ꮬ 10%
Crowdfunding 100,000 Ꮬ 1%
Pre-Sales (locked) 1,000,000 Ꮬ 10%
Public Sales (unlocked) 2,000,000 Ꮬ 20%
DAO 1,000,000 Ꮬ 10%
Airdrops to Early Adopters 200,000 Ꮬ 2%
Treasury (Liquidity Pool, Reserve) 1,000,000 Ꮬ 10%
Private Round Series A 1,400,000 Ꮬ 14%
Private Round Series B 1,300,000 Ꮬ 13%
Private Round Series C 1,000,000 Ꮬ 10%
Total 10,000,000 Ꮬ 100%

Reference Value

Initially, the $COOWN token has a reference value of 1 Special Drawing Right (SDR) as defined by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Initial approximate equivalents: 1 $COOWN ≅ 1.3 USD ≅ 1.2 EUR ≅ 1.1 CHF.

The nominal value of the token is always 1 SDR, regardless of its current market price. During the ICO, the nominal value is used to calculate the offered price considering discounts for early adopters and venture capital providers.

ICO Phases (Planned)

  1. Crowdfunding — Limited presale packages on funded.app with discounted tokens
  2. Pre-Sales — Offered on the landing page at decreasing discounts (50%, 35%, 20%)
  3. Post-IEO Sale & Swap — Public sale at market price on decentralized exchanges
  4. DAO Launchpad — SNS DAO launch on the Internet Computer
  5. Expansion — Listing on exchanges outside the ICP ecosystem

Vesting

Tokens allocated to team members, advisors, ambassadors, and venture capital providers are either vested or held back. Distribution is implemented by supplying 10% of total claims monthly to prevent sudden large-supply events affecting market price.

Completion of Token Distribution

The complete distribution of all tokens is expected to take at least 5 years.

Use of Collected Funds

The collected funds are used to develop the product and a reliable organization to maintain it, including software development, marketing, compliance demonstration, DAO implementation, and computing fees.

Ecosystem Prerequisites

Users need an Internet Identity (free from identity.ic0.app). To obtain $COOWN tokens, IC users can purchase them using ICP coin. A Plug Wallet is recommended; other ICP-compatible wallets may work as well.

Interoperability Considerations

Only ICP-oriented wallets work initially. Most launchpads are designed for other blockchains. ChainKey technology from DFINITY and third-party solutions like Bitfinity and Oisy have announced improvements to cross-chain interoperability.
